NYC Restaurant Week Winter 2022

NYC Winter Restaurant Week

January 18-February 13, 2022. Reservations open January 11th.

Both Winter & Summer 2021 Restaurant Weeks were HUGE hits with tons of restaurant choices, so we are thrilled Restaurant Week is returning this winter. The summer 2021 program introduced a new trio of pricing options ($21, $39, $125), which restaurants offered during meal periods of their choosing (lunch, dinner or both). Restaurant Week is one of my favorite times of the year, since love a good bargain almost as much as I love good food. It almost feels like you’re stealing..only you’re not.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Day NYC

Monday, January 17, 2022

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a national holiday with all public schools, post offices, and government buildings closed. There are many ways to celebrate the great life of this inspirational man, including: Martin Luther King Weekend in Harlem, Martin Luther King Jr. Day Anti-Hunger Serve-a-thon and often, a Central Park Seneca Village Tour.

Insider Guides: Harlem Neighborhood Guide, Central Park Guide

Why is Seneca Village important? West 82nd to West 89th Streets was the largest New York community of African-American property owners before Central Park was built and displaced them. While there isn’t much we can do about it today, we should all take the time to learn the historical significance and add it to the list of NYC’s "never forgets."

New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show

New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show

November 20, 2021 - Jan 23, 2022

A dazzling and detailed replica of Manhattan, made entirely from plants, leaves, seeds and bark. There are at least 14 electric trains running in loops around the city, which showcases more than 175 scaled iconic buildings and structures such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Yankee Stadium, and the Statue of Liberty. The exhibit is great for both kids and adults, and makes an especially beautiful date night with cocktails on "Bar Car Nights" in December. Located in the Bronx, accessible by Subway and Metro North.

Tickets: Holiday Train Show All-Garden Pass (good for Holiday Train Show and grounds 10am-5pm, not for Glow or other evening events)

Just like NYC, twinkling lights go on at night with both city and holiday lights. All NYC landmarks and buildings are created entirely from botanical "ingredients" such as, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, poppy pods, pine cones, berries, mushrooms, nuts, bark, leaves twigs and dozens of other plant parts. Humming along between familiar sites such as the Statue of Liberty and Rockefeller Center, large-scale model trains cover a quarter-mile of track to bring life to this traditional holiday landscape. The Holiday Train Show @ NYBG is definitely one of those "not-to-be-missed" and "only in NYC" unique and memory-creating things to do for couples, families and children.
