About January in New York City

January follows a fantastic season of shopping, celebrations and parties, so New York City tends to be a bit quieter in January. Masses of visitors and tourists have left, making this an ideal time to visit so you not only have every NYC attraction to yourself, but get REAL discounts on Broadway, Restaurant and Hotels.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is lit until 8pm on January 7, 2015 and everything is on sale in the stores! The only catch? January can be freezing, so layer up with hats, gloves, scarves, heavy sweaters and your best waterproof boots.

Please check sightseeing and holiday hours for New Years Day (January 1st) and Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 19, 2015).
