Every year, stars such as Meryl Streep, Al Pacino and James Earl Jones perform modern interpretations of various Shakespeare plays in Central Park at the recently redone 1,800 seat open-air theater and they are attended by over 80,000 people. Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace NYC

Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace is back for it’s second year at Rockefeller Center during the ice skating off-season, April 14, 2023 through October. There is roller skating, musical acts, disco lights and a whole lot of fun all spring and summer at the Rink. Flipper’s is open seven days a week, 12pm-10pm, Sunday through Wednesday and until 12am Thursday through Saturday. Tickets required to skate.


The Big Screen @ Hudson Yards

Watch sports and movies on the 30-foot Big Screen at The Backyard at Hudson Yards. The summer line up is all kinds of sporting events, and Movie Nights will return mid-September.

NYC in August is hot, hot, hot! Many locals are out of town, so the only other people in the city will be visitors and vacationers. You should be fine to dress as cool as possible, but also expect indoor air conditioning. The weather in NYC in August is fairly consistent day to night and the dress code is likely shorts, tanks/tees, sun dresses and open toe shoes. Historical July high/low temperatures are 81/66 (F) and 28/19 (C).
