A NYC Sample Sale is one of our best hidden gems. New Yorkers can get almost ANYTHING at a major discount off the retail price! As a visitor, it is nearly impossible to get the inside scoop on NYC Sample Sales.
In Manhattan, we have access to huge discounts on designer clothing, handbags, shoes, cosmetics and home decor. We find out about them from a variety of newspapers, magazines, flyers, email lists, Facebook groups, secret groups and most importantly, friends and family!
You won't find information about NYC Sample Sales in any printed tour guide, because it is almost all by word of mouth and rarely publicized more than a few days in advance. What exactly is a New York City Sample Sale?
It is not just samples or sample sizes, usually it's neither of those. Most often, it is the way designers sell off their first quality merchandise from the prior season. For example, a shoe sample sale in November is selling the prior Spring/Summer collection and one in May is selling the Fall/Winter collection. The sales are often held in warehouse spaces or hotel conference centers. Many times a designer will rent a commercial space that is temporarily vacant as the prior tenant has left and the new one is not in yet.

- At least one photograph
- Appeal to a wide audience
- Correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. This is a quality website and only quality submissions will be accepted.
- New York City events should be submitted in article form, not as a Press Release. The first paragraph should be a few sentences in a row and describe your event. Please see the other approved NYC Events below as examples.
- NO PRESS RELEASES. Original content not published elsewhere only.
- If the event is not Manhattan, public transportation must be included
- Please allow at least 10 business days for events to go live as I review each event personally.
- Changes and additions to sample sales (ie, your show has been extended) must be updated in the comments section of your event, not submitted as a new event.
