Harlem Haberdashery was created by legendary custom-fashion design and styling company 5001 FLAVORS. Think the late Notorious B.I.G. in elaborate leather ensembles, Grammy award-winners Alicia Keys and Jay-Z’s "Empire State of Mind", or David Beckham’s "Welcome to the U.S." Adidas promotion campaign. The family behind these iconic looks created and opened, with much success, a beautiful "retail expression" of their custom-designs and styling; Harlem Haberdashery’s signature collection has been seen on everyone from award-winning restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson, to New York Giants’ Victor Cruz, New York Yankees’ CC Sabathia and others. This family-run by high school sweethearts and Harlem-natives business welcomes you to their gorgeous retail store where you can shop like a celebrity even if you are not one!
The five-year old "retail expression" of 5001 FLAVORS is located in the heart of Harlem, NY. The nearly 2,000 square foot boutique carries emerging designers/brands, is located in the former home of the late civil rights leader Malcolm X and pays homage to Harlem’s rich history and luminaries.
Born and raised in Harlem, New York, Guy Wood grew up with the explosion of Hip Hop culture and expanded into the fashion industry with 5001 FLAVORS, a custom clothing company designing looks for some of the biggest pop culture stars including: Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Lebron James, Kim Kardashian and so many more. As Head Designer of 5001 FLAVORS from inception to now, Guy has helped to define trends and motivate markets with his custom creations.
Guy’s wife and business partner, Sharene "Shay" Wood wears many hats as a women on the go! Entrepreneur. Mother. Philanthropist. Wife. She is President & CEO of 5001 FLAVORS and Harlem Haberdashery. Her keen business sense and love of fashion make her a perfect manager and integral part of the company. “When you come into Harlem Haberdashery, you’re coming into our home, and family takes care of family,” owner Sharene “Shay” Wood told CBS2.
