Summer on the Hudson NYC


Summer on the Hudson NYC strives to present events that meet the cultural and recreational needs of the community, enrich the daily lives of New Yorkers and bring diverse groups of people together to enjoy the panoramic north and south views of the Hudson River. Summer on the Hudson programming is free to the public; seating is limited, unreserved, and available on a first-come, first-served basis, and begins 1-2 hours before the event.

Free Tai Chi Lessons

Free Tai Chi Lessons

Join Silvana Pizzuti to learn and practice Tai Chi, a slow moving martial art with health benefits for all fitness levels. The lessons will be held on Sundays in May at the West 89th Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument Plaza in Riverside Park from 8:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m. All Tai Chi lessons are free.

Shape Up Zumba in West Harlem Piers Park

Shape Up NYC: Zumba

Join Shape Up NYC for a free outdoor Zumba class each week at West Harlem Piers! No registration is required, just show up ready to work out! Zumba is a fusion of Latin, International and popular music dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines feature aerobic, fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body with easy to follow dance steps.  Shape Up NYC (an NYC Parks program run in partnership with Equinox, NYC Service, and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield) offers more than 175 free fitness classes every week at locations across the five boroughs to help New Yorkers get and stay fit.
