The Affordable Art Fair returns this spring to celebrate 12 years of Fairs in New York City. The spring edition of the Fair will showcase 84 galleries over two floors at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea this April.
Showing in 16 cities internationally this year, Affordable Art Fair fosters a relaxed and enjoyable environment where a diverse array of affordable contemporary art is available. While the majority of exhibiting galleries will be from the United States, one third will be internationally sourced – almost 10% of the fair will be comprised of a new influx of galleries from Korea, China and Japan. Showcasing original paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs, the Fair’s prices range from $100 – $10,000, with the majority of work priced under $5,000.
“As we celebrate 12 years of hosting the Fair in New York, as well as the Fair’s constant growth and evolution, our 2013 spring edition will offer a fresh, smartly curated selection of work to art collectors, professionals, patrons and visitors alike,” says Cristina Salmastrelli, Director of the Affordable Art Fair New York. “We are excited to welcome both our new and longstanding patrons to the Metropolitan Pavilion by offering new and stimulating art activities for children, as well as engaging programming for adults. We are here to satisfy the needs of both the seasoned art collectors and first time buyers, so we try to make sure there is something for everyone.”
