NYC Museums
…many Museums are actually FREE? Yes, they are!
Many NYC Museums are non-profit organizations. Their goal is to make art and culture affordable to everyone. As non-profits, they ask for a “suggested donation” or contribution to access the museum, rather than an admission price.
Pay attention when evaluating New York City Passes, if the “price” is suggested donation or an actual admission cost. Please do donate as our NYC Museums are priceless and the money donated goes back into our New York City Museums, so we can all enjoy them.
Most NYC Museums also offer Free or “Pay-What-You-Wish” days and times. NYC Museums you can visit during these times include The Bronx Zoo, Children’s Museum of the Arts, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum NYC, Museum of Modern Art NYC, New-York Historical Society and many others.
The Statue of Liberty Museum is always free, but please read all the fine print so you can be guaranteed a reservation inside the most popular NYC Museum, and not just a pleasant boat tour or ferry ride.
