As legendary folk artist, Happy Traum, put it, ‘Marc is a master…spreading the joy of music with story and song’.
Marc Black LIFE… ONE SONG AT A TIME Suburban kid from Brooklyn/New Jersey/Florida/Pennsylvania, Guitar addict, High school pop sensation, Pot smoking Woodstock hippie, Homesteader, Madison Avenue tunesmith, Metro North commuter, Fracking activist, Joy merchant, Composer for the New York Mets/ International living room performer. —
Just 6 years old, living in Jacksonville Florida, Marc heard Elvis on the Studebaker car radio. He turned to his Mom and said…’What is that’? Not who is that, but what is that?
From that moment, rock rhythms and rock songs became his obsession and the mirror to his life’s journey. New chords, new rhythms, new ideas… each song leading to the next.
Marc has chosen a bagful of these tunes to share in this intimate theater on the lower east side. The show will feature Marc and his guitar (Claudette) which he bought new in 1968. They’ve got some tales to tell.
So hang on to your seat as Marc leads us through his life one song at a time… and enjoy the musical ride.
