Remember, Manhattan is tiny! You probably commute further to work every day - it's all about being efficient with your time to make the most of your vacation and get the best New York City Hotel Deals. Without stopping, you can walk each neighborhood in NYC in 30 minutes or less (at a NYC pace, of course).
Skipping Step 2? Let's lets move on to THE HOTTEST, HARDEST TICKET IN TOWN TO GET!.
Just like Kayak was for airfare, Hotels Combined is the best tool on the internet to find New York City Hotel Deals. You should not have to go to ANY other website to compare prices (exceptions include using hotel points or a bidding engine) and you won't have 20 windows open on your computer trying to compare different options.
Hotels Combined does all the work for you and searches every major hotel engine for New York City Hotel Deals, including Priceline, Travelocity, Expedia and Hotels.com.
This handy box is all set to find New York City Hotel Deals. Start by putting in your dates. When the results come up:
- Change your number of travelers and rooms at the very top (defaults to 1 Traveler and 1 Room)
- Go to the left side, and choose "2 miles" in the location distance. The first hotels that come up will always be the cheapest near Midtown. That may be enough for you, as it is truly "city center" and near or easy transportation to everywhere in NYC. For a more refined search, put in "1 mile" as this will keep you out of Harlem, the Bronx and other areas without many attractions.
- If you get lost, go back to "New York City Center." If it's your first time in Manhattan and plan on doing all the typical tourist attractions, this is the ideal location.
- If it's not your first time in NYC, or you really want to experience NYC like a local, then get more specific, choose (right under Location Distance) Union Square, SoHo, Tribeca, Greenwich Village, Gramercy Park, Murray Hill, Upper East Side, Upper West Side - all the places real New Yorkers live, dine and play!
- Remember, you're only searching within 1 or 2 miles at this point, so now it's a matter of price, style, comfort and preferences.
