New York City Insider Guide
Advertising, Affiliates and Sponsorships

Have you ever wondered how this site supports itself?

NYC-Insider-GuideThank you for visiting nycinsiderguide.com (the website). This site is my personal site and I am not directly paid by any NYC Tourism Company for writing any of the content on this site. All the content on this site is at my sole discretion and is not influenced by any form of payment.

However, the NYC Insider Guide does make a small commission if you purchase or sign up for some things through our links. This is one of the ways I am able to provide you all the free content on this website. However, the information provided on all my pages is unbiased and accurate to the best of my ability. I do not have links for anything on my site that will require you to pay any additional fees because of my relationship with them. As a matter of fact, many times these relationships save you money!

As an example, I recommend you sign up for GoldStar Events, which I believe is one of the sweetest deals in NYC for discount tickets. I've been a member for years (long before I started this site) and it was one of the first things I wanted to be able to share with my visitors. Months after I put GoldStar on my site, I discovered they had an affiliate program where I could receive a referral fee (if you meet the guidelines) and join them for free. In my mind, this is a win-win situation for us both!

There are other areas of the site where I also receive small commissions if you purchase something. Examples include Sightseeing Passes, City Bus Tours, Amazon Books and Broadway Tickets. At the time of this writing, there is NO program on this site that charges YOU any premiums because of my affiliate fees.

Believe me, there are hundreds out there, like high end ticket brokers for Broadway Shows, where I can make a lot more money. Instead, I post every discount code I find on my Broadway pages, which likely means I won't make anything. I try and provide you the most and best information, and if I can make some money doing it, then great! If not, you get the information anyway.

When you click through the NYC Insider Guide links, you are either paying the same amount as if you went to their site directly, or funny enough, sometimes even less. Many times these special links are a win-win for us both, because the companies offer special promotions and discount coupons only for their affiliate partners. I wouldn't even know to offer you the discounts if I weren't an affiliate.

So, I could send you directly to their sites, without my affiliate link, and you'd be paying full price, OR use my link - and then you get the discount and NYC Insider Guide makes a commission.

My goal is to deliver you the best, most informative, unbiased content to help you make the most of your NYC Visit. I hope this will keep you returning to my site and recommending it to your friends. If you like the NYC Insider Guide, then the most helpful thing to me is if you recommend it, either to friends, or going on any blog/travel site and posting a link there. At the bottom of every page on my site, there are buttons that will let you post to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc..again, please do this only if you found this site helpful.

"Ads by Google" are not selected by me, so if you see a Google ad and a Web page about the same product or service, it is a coincidence. Yes, I make some pennies when you click on those, but at the same time, I always wonder, "Why didn't they like the content I put on that page? Why did they want to go somewhere else?" It's really a Catch-22, if you think about it...but again, a win-win. I love when you stay on my site and like my content, but on the other hand, if you didn't find what you wanted, then I'm glad Google provided information that was interesting.

I am here to give you the facts, disclose information and make your NYC Vacation enjoyable. There are many pages on this site where I earn nothing if you click the links (except Google advertising if you click on those), but felt it was appropriate to share the information with you. Examples include the Sample Sales, Statue of Liberty Tickets, Subway Maps and Manhattan Maps pages. That information is provided solely for your benefit - because I think it's good stuff!

To avoid the appearance of any conflict of interest and in the spirit of full disclosure, I do my best to identify all sponsored content to you.

Please do support my partners and recommendations. This site takes time and effort to deliver original content, free, to you. Supporting my partners is a WIN-WIN-WIN for you, me, and them.

If you enjoyed this site, and felt it provided you valuable information, then feel free to use these links any time in the future, whether your purchases are related to NYC or not. Every little bit helps and I thank you very much in advance. If you have any questions about this page or the NYC Insider Guide, please don't hesitate to contact me.
